Here's to 2013!

I don't think I have ever gone this long without posting but that goes to show how crazy busy the last week has been.  I had so.much.fun with my sister and family.  Usually when they come in town they are only able to stay the weekend so the fact that we had 5 nights with them was awesome!  I also got to see my cousin from Austin and lots of other family that was in and out of town.

So much happened and I will blog more about that when I get around to uploading my pictures.  Ethan's first birthday party was Saturday and my sister, mom and cousin helped out a ton with that.  Of course we had Christmas, New Year's and my mother-in-law's birthday yesterday.  Busy, busy, busy but nothing is better than spending lots of time with those you love!

Here are some pictures my sister took on NYE.  My mom went all out and even got the babies party hats ~ of course a tiara for Ellie Day and a top hat for my little E.  Too cute!  The boys got to stay up until midnight... okay, it was really like 9 pm but we pretended like the fireworks from one of the NYE performances on tv was the countdown and they never knew the difference.  :)

So here are my resolutions for 2013:
1.  Eat healthier
2.  Get in the gym
3.  I'm totally full of crap... after a few years of making these kinds of resolutions you realize that you fail miserably after a month and then resolve to never make those type of resolutions again!

Garrison and I did talk about the new year and what a resolution is.  Mine really is to get myself and the kids to church every single Sunday we are in town.  I think Garrison's was very thoughtful - to not talk back.  We have been having some attitude issues lately so I thought it was really great that this is what he came up with.

Church this past Sunday was awesome!  I was so excited that my mom, sister, brother-in-law and two cousins were able to come with me and Garrett.  Now that we attend a non denominational church we do not take communion every Sunday (or hardly ever).  The pastor talked about communion, what it means and why it is important and then we all took communion together.  The most incredible part was the prayer team that prayed for every person individually after communion.  It doesn't get more personal than that for me.  I have always appreciated communion but when I was in the habit of taking it every Sunday that's all it was for me - a habit.  I'm not saying it's bad.  I'm just saying that this was a totally different experience for me and I really enjoyed it.

Garrett and I leave for Isla Mujeres in TWO DAYS!!! I am so excited but so incredibly anxious about leaving my boys for 7 whole days.  It's a good thing I have awesome in-laws and parents that will be taking care of my sweet boys while we are gone.

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and were able to soak up tons of time with those you love!

I'm brushing up on my spanish so "Hablamos"!  When we went to Mexico for our honeymoon the only word Garrett could say was tequila... let's hope he does a little better this time around.  :)
